Yep, they're still in business
I have nothing to say about these guys that I haven't already said, so here's the current sign from Short Street Motor Cars. Enjoy!

Musings from .000000015% of humanity
LOL, It's wrong, but I kind of love this business. How often do they change up their message? Is it always political? Is it ever used to advertise their business? P.S. This is the same Kathy as the LiveJournal one but I'm having problems getting OpenID/LJ to cooperate tonight.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I know how you feel. I've gotten so bad that, given the choice of two otherwise-about-equal routes to drive, most of the time I'm picking the one that takes me past that sign, just so I can see if it's been updated.
ReplyDeleteThey tend to change the sign two or three times a month, and they were on a couple-month stretch of all political messages until the current one, put up earlier this week, congratulating some guy on his 80th birthday.
Now, in fairness, I should point out that what I'm referring to as "the sign" is just one side of it, which, incidentally, is the far more prominent side, given the business's location at the corner of a one-way street. The side you've seen is the one that's facing that street's traffic and is blindingly obvious to everyone who travels it.
The other side is only really seen if you're stopped at the intersection and happen to look up from the traffic and notice it, or if you're stopped at the gas station that you can see in the photos' background. For months, that side has been stagnant on "FUN Bank financing available here", along with their phone number.
But that's boring; that's what a normal business would do. And it's the far-less-prominent side of the sign.
